Consultant Pediatrician (In-House)
Job Description
- We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatrician to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality healthcare to children and adolescents, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to delivering compassionate care to patients and their families.
- As an In-house Consultant Pediatrician, you will be a permanent, full-time member of our team and fully integrated into our operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments of pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and developmental issues.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications, therapies, and other interventions.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of pediatric conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Valid license to practice medicine from the Nigerian Medical and Dental Association.
- Certification by the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or West African College of Physicians (WACP) in Pediatrics or as a Consultant, as applicable.
- 4 – 7 years relevant work experience.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, stamina, and empathy for patients.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
- Familiarity with cultural and religious considerations of patients.
- Knowledge of current legislation on patient rights.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to providing compassionate care.
- Evidence of competence in pediatric case management and active participation in relevant research.
