ESG Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies and policies to manage ESG, HSE, and sustainability matters within the Company taking into consideration leading practices
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for humans and livestock on the farm
- Develop and implement safety policies and plans across the business
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including biosecurity and ESG measures
- Conduct and report on bio-security risk assessments periodically, identifying risk-mitigating strategies
- Conduct preliminary ESG due diligence assessments on projects and activities, and liaise with external ESG consultants, as required
- Maintain records on the ESG and HSE performance of the company in line with defined metrics, including benchmark analysis
- Identify emerging ESG and HSE risks, and design mitigating measures
- Identify technologies that enhance the company’s HSE performance and recommend same for deployment
- Facilitate relevant training programs to sensitive staff and visitors on the company’s ESG and safety policies
- Ensure safety gears are optimally stocked and properly deployed
- Ensure safety signs are well-positioned across the farm
- Ensure safety devices are well-maintained
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years experience in an ESG/ bio-health management role with a minimum of 1 year in a senior officer role
- Strong understanding of the Agribusiness Value Chain
- Relevant undergraduate degree; Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.
- Relevant certifications would be a plus
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
