Finance Intern
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy according to the payment and procurement checklist thresholds before electronically securing them.
- Scan, name, and electronically file ALL supporting documents at the area level as instructed by your supervisor and according to the minimum standards provided for in the Securing of Supporting Documentation procedures.
- Ensure scrutiny of the entire bill for accuracy and receipt of goods before processing for payment
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and other job-related information.
- Prepare and process day-to-day financial transactions and implement internal control procedures in keeping with the policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Inform your supervisor immediately you notice missing documentation from the folders.
- Support finance unit to prepare for audits by retrieving and re-archiving documentation
- Support in reconciling bank accounts.\\r\\n• Collect credit tax receipts from FIRS
- Ensure timely scanning of vouchers and uploading on Google Drive
Skills
Knowledge and Experience will include:
- Ability to demonstrate previous practical experience in particular with all Microsoft Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately, with acute attention to detail
- Excellent organizational ability and able to prioritize.
- Natural ability to build relationships in a professional environment.
- High-level understanding of the importance of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant Degree
- Ability to work under pressure
- Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity
- Knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets is essential.
- Knowledge in accounting software: (Quick Books)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. is required.
