The Role

• The finance manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction towards the achievement of the company’s financial objectives. This role is responsible for the daily supervision of finance operations, analyzes and draws insights from accounting data to provide information to management. The preferred candidate must have financial reporting, cash and treasury management experience. 

Essential Duties:

• Be Responsible for the end-to-end financial reporting within the company. 
• Establish collection strategies ensuring timely account receivables payments. 
• Ensure cash management processes are tightly managed. 
• Act as a business partner for cross-functions and provide guidance on financial initiatives. 
• Supervise the preparation of monthly financial reports and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts. 
• Advise cross-functional teams on decisions related to the company’s finances. 
• Co-ordinate and manage statutory audit processes, liaise with and manage end-to-end audit processes of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors and tax consultants. 
• Preparation of accurate monthly staff payroll in compliance with HR and company policy. 
• Oversee the remittance of statutory deductions/returns, ensuring compliance with payments, reporting or other tax requirements. 
• Manage filing of annual returns. 
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities. 
• Identify risks on delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations. 
• Mentor direct reports on personal growth and development initiatives that align with the values of the company. 
• Assist with other duties that may be assigned by the CFO from time to time. 

 What You Will Do

• Monitoring of revenue growth rate month on month. 
• Investor data room monitoring and additions 
• Participate actively in fundraising and other investor related engagements 
• Monitor gross profit margin, Net profitability and break-even monitoring/evaluation. 
• Timely monthly financial reports specific to deadlines. 
• Timely remittance of statutory returns. 
• Gross Burn rate monitoring 
• Budget to Actual performance monitoring. 
• Insurance claim management. 

What We’re Looking for In the Ideal Candidate

• B.Sc. Accounting or any related field
• Professional qualification (ACCA) is compulsory
• MBA is an added advantage 
• Startup or FMCG sector experience preferred 
• Minimum 7 years’ experience.
• Financial advisory/ investment banking experience is a strong advantage
