Fundraising Manager

Overview

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our organization in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • As the Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure financial support for our programs and initiatives.
  • You will work closely with the executive team and the Director of Programs to identify funding opportunities, build relationships with donors and sponsors, and coordinate fundraising events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet the organization’s financial goals and objectives.
  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government grants.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and sponsors, ensuring effective communication and stewardship to foster long-term partnerships. Build strong external and internal relationships.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and fundraising appeals to secure financial support.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, including donor cultivation events, benefit galas, and community engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute fundraising campaigns, leveraging digital platforms and social media to reach a wider audience.
  • Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, tracking progress towards goals, and providing regular reports to management and the board of directors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to fundraising, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including community leaders, influencers, and strategic partners, to expand the organization’s network and support base.
  • Supervise and mentor new or incoming fundraising team members and interns, providing guidance and support to enhance their fundraising skills and performance.
  • Develop a plan with targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Marketing.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector as it relates to renewable energy, environmental education and conservation.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising techniques, strategies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to prepare persuasive grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and fundraising appeals.
  • Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Proficiency in using digital platforms and social media for fundraising and donor engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to track and evaluate fundraising outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
