Senior Control Room Operator

  • NoemDek Limited, a leading provider of cutting-edge technology solutions in the energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Control Room Operator (CRO).
  • The Senior CRO will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of our control room, ensuring the efficiency and safety of all processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control all operational activities in the control room.
  • Oversee the implementation of standard operating procedures and ensure they are adhered to at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues or malfunctions in a timely manner, escalating if necessary.
  • Coordinate and communicate with field operators to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior control room operators.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports on operational activities and performance.
  • Continuously evaluate control room processes to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Control Room Operator, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of control room operations, processes, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in the use of control room systems and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of industry safety and environmental regulations.

Method of Application

Requirements:

  • Operate and monitor gas plant equipment under supervision.
  • Perform routine inspections (ORDs) and take field readings.
  • Conduct first-line maintenance and ODR functions, including:
  • Replacing pressure gauges
  • Greasing pump motors
  • Changing oil in small rotating equipment
  • Cleaning and replacing turbine air intake filters
  • Topping up equipment oil levels
  • Testing Fire Water Pumps
  • Routine switching between running and standby equipment or air compressor.
  • Assist in operating complex equipment such as Sales Gas Turbine Compressors, Fired Heaters, Turbo-Expander, under the guidance of experienced Operators.
  • Support safety checks and routine inspections, including:
  • Shut down system testing
  • LO/LC valve status checks
  • MCC switch gear status checks
  • Fire Monitor testing
  • Safety equipment inspections.
  • Operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) during routine operations under the direct supervision of an experienced Console Operator.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area to promote a safe working environment.
  • Process daily work permits for maintenance and support work groups.
  • Fulfill the role of Facility Site Rep to ensure the work site is safe.
  • Observe and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Report and correct any non-compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of basic hand tools, piping and fittings, tubing, wrenches, etc.
  • Understand and follow Safe Work Practices, Operational Excellence (OE) Tenets, Permit-to-Work (PTW) processes, and basic Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
  • Follow plant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including hearing protection, eye protection, and be trained on the use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).

Qualifications:

  • Recommended minimum entry qualification is OND or equivalent in Engineering or Sciences.
  • Knowledge in oil and gas operations is required.
  • Experience in gas plant operations is an additional advantage.
