Job Description:
Overview: As an Accounts Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and enforcing compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and manage a team of accounting staff, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable personnel.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance their performance.
- Delegate tasks, set performance targets, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Verify and reconcile invoices, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely collections from customers.
Budget Management:
- Assist in budget preparation and collaborate with the finance department to monitor expenditures.
- Analyze variances and recommend cost-saving measures to senior management.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and adjust financial processes as needed.
Audit Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide auditors with required documents and explanations during audit processes.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data, trends, and performance indicators to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Identify areas for process improvements and cost savings.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure financial activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for the organization’s operational needs.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and cash management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus)
- Proven experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
