Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

The role is primarily responsible for processing invoices and issuing payments.

What you’ll be doing

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation approval prior to payment.
  • Process 3-way PO matching invoices
  • Prioritise invoices according to payment terms
  • Process payment request
  • Reconcile all vendor accounts before payments are made
  • Manage suppliers / invoice discrepancy.
  • Ensure smooth account closing and pre-closing process.
  • Ensure periodic reconciliation of key suppliers account.
  • Maintain good customer relationship and focus with suppliers.
  • Ensure payments are made in line with the payment terms agreed with suppliers.
  • Generate payment reports and all such reports that provide transparency on settlement and status of invoices.
  • Respond to all vendor enquiries
  • Respond swiftly to suppliers’ queries.
  • Attend to and resolve all invoice discrepancies and discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Manage all invoice processes, receiving every invoice from vendors, and matching these to the purchase order made.
  • Confirm that all items are received and properly invoiced.
  • Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers
  • Provide supporting documents for audits
  • Ensure strict compliance to internal controls guiding the job role

What we are looking for 

Education/qualifications/skills

  • B.sc / HND (Accounting/Social sciences)
  • ACA /, ACCA (added advantage)
  • 5 years post NYSC working experience with minimum of 2 years on similar role.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Good knowledge of an ERP environment – ideally JDE or SAP
  • Understanding and correct application of VAT regulations with FIRS
  • Understanding and correct application of WHT regulations with FIRS
  • Internal controls
  • Sound knowledge of a standard accounts payable process
  • MS-Excel Knowledge
  • Good presentation skills for educating external clients on company policies and procedures

About the Job

Control Room Operator objective is to organize and coordinate production shift team to produce good quality product taking cognizance of safety, efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cost per tonne.

What you’ll be doing

  • Controls the activities of Patrollers, Process assistants and mobile plant operation.
  • Directs “break-down” and problem solving activity including troubleshooting and determination of related overtime staffing needs.
  • Coordinates activities of maintenance team on night shift and call for help when needed (call out procedure).
  • Follows continuous quality monitoring and make necessary adjustments to system(s).
  • Serves as liaison with Automation Engineer regarding problems on major equipment.
  • Serves as Plant Emergency Response Coordinator in the event of a serious production environmental, or safety incident.
  • Carry out equipment energy isolation according to LOTOTO procedure.
  • Able to manage all aspect of Vertical Roller Mill, Kiln and Finish Mill systems operation and optimization in compliance with Company process/quality standards and requirements.
  • Follow operational procedures (SOPs) in the execution of all tasks in the plant
  • Operates all equipment within Lafarge and local environmental protection standards.
  • Champion the development/review of standard operating procedures for Production department.
  • Conducts/leads safety meetings with shift personnel
  • Monitors all radio communications for problems/difficulties in the Plant.
  • Completes paperwork and record keeping as required, including production and equipment reliability logs, work order entry, mill operating report data, etc
  • Assists in operational and safety training of old employees and induction of new employees.
  • Completes and conducts performance reviews of hourly employees in production department.
  • Provides input on departmental budget and capital expenditures.
  • Promptly reports unusual circumstances, problems or difficulties to Shift Coordinator.

What we are looking for

Education/Qualification

  • BSc/HND in engineering discipline (with mechanical, chemical, electrical, chemistry or physics as main subjects).
  • 2-3 years experience in a process industry 

OR

  • OND in engineering discipline (with mechanical, chemical, electrical, chemistry or physics as main subject).
  • 5-8years cement industry experience.Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
  • Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
  • Very good written and verbal communications skills
  • Good team player and self-motivated.
  • Complete Professional level in CCRO certification program.

Technical Competencies

  • Good knowledge of operation and control of Vertical Roller Mill, Kiln and Finish Mill systems.
  • Good knowledge of product quality parameters and quality control tests.
  • Good knowledge of computer aided systems for kiln and mill operation.
  • Ability to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
