Logistics Assistant – National

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator Adamawa and technically reporting to the Logistics Manager Maiduguri, the Logistics Assistant will assist in various logistical tasks to ensure smooth operations of the program office, as mentioned under the key responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as a support person for logistics management at the Adamawa location and assist in the implementation of regulations and procedures for local purchase, procurement, and logistics management, while providing support in executing procurement tasks in compliance with Malteser International and donor guidelines
  • Aid in preparing procurement documents, receiving bids, and preparing purchase requests, assisting in the documentation of procurement processes and maintaining filing systems
  • Assist in maintaining a procurement tracking tool aligned with project work plans, and assisting in the reviewing of the procurement plans with the program and logistics team
  • Support in maintaining and updating the current suppliers’ database including assisting in the management of supplier relationships up to the delivery of goods and completion of services
  • Support in ensuring the logistical needs of the program office are fulfilled and identifying logistical issues, including providing support in managing program office utilities and supplies, support in managing program office stocks and maintaining stock records
  • Assist in managing all Malteser International assets in the program office and maintaining an up-to-date asset/inventory register, support in ensuring accurate and timely submission of logistics, inventory, vehicle, stock, and asset reports, including providing support in the renewal of service and rental contracts in coordination with the administration department
  • Responsible for the supervision of Guards, Domestic Staff and Drivers

Your Profile

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in logistics, procurement, or related fields
  • Experience in humanitarian interventions and development programs
  • Proficiency in report writing
  • Experience in planning and managing procurements and experience in fleet management and supply chain management
  • Applicant must be well experienced in the use of Microsoft suits, including outlook and teams
