Job Overview
- Benel Energy Resources Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within our facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors for mechanical and electrical parts.
- Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
- Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical components such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and valves.
- Utilize precision tools and instruments to measure, cut, weld, and fabricate mechanical parts as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and maintenance personnel as required.
- General Services and facility maintenance.
- Stay informed about advancements in mechanical technology and best practices to enhance job performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements:
- Ond/Hnd or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Hands-on experience with precision tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with established procedures and regulations.
