Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Position Purpose
- DKT International Nigeria is set out to recruit Research, M&E Officer to be based at Kano, Nigeria. This position will be under the direct supervision of the M&E Specialist.
- In support of DKT Nigeria’s aim to ‘put research and knowledge at the heart of program development’ you will provide expert support to Research, Monitoring and Evaluation work in the organization.
- The M&E Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the application of relevant strategies in data generation and utilization, designing data quality assurance mechanisms, analyzing monitoring data, overseeing research and M&E components, and providing valuable insights to stakeholders.
- The M&E Officer will work closely with the M&E Specialist and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, provide insights, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making and the development of impactful program intervention
Key Responsiblities
Monitoring and Evaluation System Development:
- Design and implement M&E frameworks, methodologies, and tools to track project performance.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Establish data collection processes to monitor progress and impact.
- Monitoring field staff
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Conduct field visits to collect qualitative and quantitative data to gather program related insights.
- Analyze data and generate reports that highlight key findings and recommendations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare periodic M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date M&E documentation and databases.
- Ensure data is presented in an understandable and actionable manner through visualizations, dashboards, and summaries.
Program Evaluation and Learning:
- Conduct mid-term and final program evaluations to assess effectiveness and sustainability.
- Identify trends, lessons learned, and best practices to inform future program strategies.
- Support knowledge management efforts by documenting case studies and success stories.
Compliance and Capacity Building:
- Ensure M&E activities comply with organizational and donor requirements.
- Train staff on M&E tools, data collection methodologies, and reporting standards.
- Provide technical support to project teams to integrate M&E best practices.
Who we are looking for
- BSc. Degree or higher in, public health, health informatics, information sciences, behavioral sciences, epidemiology, population studies, or a related field
- At least 2 years experience designing and implementing M&E activities for complex health programs
- Proven experience designing and implementing M&E frameworks, including: routine data collection, data quality assurance, and data use
- Experience in measuring activity outcomes and supporting activity supervision in M&E
- Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and report writing.
- Proven experience with statistical analysis software, such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, or R is a must.
- Proven experience with software to analyze qualitative data nViVo is preferable
- Strong writing skills, organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, mentoring and capacity-building skills; a strong track record of writing and/or publishing research reports will be considered a plus
- Familiarity with M&E tools and methodologies
- Ability to interpret data and explain findings to non-technical audiences
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, including speaking and writing.
