Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for tracking project progress, ensuring timely and high-quality inputs, and making sure each project stays aligned with its strategic goals. They will design and implement M&E activities, support the program team in preparing quarterly and annual progress reports, and regularly monitor project activities. Additionally, the M&E Officer will develop and manage the project’s Management Information System (MIS), as well as collect and analyze data related to project activities. They will work closely with the project team, government officials, private sector partners, non-governmental organizations, and civil society groups.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and improve monitoring, inspection, and evaluation processes.
- Track all project activities, spending, and progress toward project goals.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports on project activities.
- Plan measurable outputs and performance indicators.
- Assess overall progress in achieving project results.
- Monitor the long-term impact and sustainability of project outcomes.
- Conduct assessments of the organization’s existing monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Create indicators and strategies for monitoring project progress.
- Develop monitoring and impact indicators to measure project success.
- Provide data, insights, and statistics for project reports submitted to the management team.
- Participate in annual project reviews and planning sessions, assisting the Project Manager with report preparation.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the employer.
BEHAVIOURAL CAPABILITIES
- Previous experience as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer in a related field.
- Strong proficiency in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Skilled in data analysis using statistical software.
- Experience in developing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Deep understanding of Management Information Systems (MIS), M&E processes, and development issues.
- Strong skills in training and facilitation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Professional and approachable in stakeholder engagements.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
