Job Description

• Overall responsibility for the strategic development, performance, and maintenance of the buying process activities of the organization to obtain the best possible combination of price, quality, and service for the organization.
• The smooth running of the team.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Maintain and improve mechanisms for buying, including measuring the buying process and disseminating feedback for improvements to the appropriate internal entities and support to all other departments with buying process and related issues.
• Discovering profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships.
• Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies.
• Examine and test existing contracts.
• Control spending and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

Requirements

• Qualifications sufficient to perform the job role – e.g. minimum Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
• Experience in this type of job role with a minimum 5 years in the FMCG Industry
• Thorough understanding of buying process management, requirements, and dynamics.
• Ability in buying, process management, and supplier relationship management.
• Integrity and honesty in all dealings.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Having contacts with major FMCG manufacturers and wholesalers in Nigeria.
