Procurement Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process efficiently, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the organization’s operational needs and budgetary requirements.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and requests for proposals (RFPs) in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and stock availability, anticipating demand and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure adequate supply.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities, staying abreast of industry trends and developments.
- Review and analyze purchase requests, specifications, and bid proposals, making recommendations for vendor selection based on quality, price, and delivery terms.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including adherence to ethical standards and best practices.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, including supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and purchase history.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic reviews to evaluate quality, delivery performance, and overall satisfaction.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in procurement operations.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile invoices, track expenses, and manage budgetary allocations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive information and transactions.
