Overview

  • The Project Coordinator for Kebulania will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of key activities within the Lagos Film City & Del-York University development initiative.

  • The ideal candidate is a highly organized, culturally aware professional with strong project management expertise and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including local communities and government entities.
  • Fluency in Yoruba is essential to foster collaboration and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution:

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet organizational objectives.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, allocate resources, and establish key milestones.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the seamless execution of project tasks.
  • Conduct regular project evaluations and provide actionable insights for improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with local communities to promote buy-in and participation in the project.
  • Build relationships with government agencies to navigate regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and translate project materials into Yoruba, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Represent Kebulania in community forums and stakeholder gatherings, fostering trust and goodwill.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present project status reports, performance metrics, and risk assessments to senior management.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including contracts, meeting records, project briefs, and compliance reports.
  • Create visual presentations or dashboards to communicate project progress effectively.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify potential risks to project timelines, budgets, or quality standards and implement mitigation plans.
  • Resolve operational or stakeholder-related issues promptly to avoid delays or disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and community expectations.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership to cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the core team and external collaborators.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct training sessions or onboarding for team members to align with project goals.

Logistics and Operational Support:

  • Coordinate logistics, such as securing permits, managing supply chains, and overseeing on-ground activities.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of project resources and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage project site activities to ensure safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Urban Development, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or postgraduate certification in project management or development studies is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in infrastructure, education, or creative industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with public-private partnerships and working with government institutions is highly desirable.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in Yoruba and English is mandatory, with the ability to interpret and translate as needed.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Trello).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of local cultural norms, traditions, and community engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of Lagos State regulations and compliance processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience in creative, educational, or tourism-related projects.
  • Knowledge of construction and infrastructure development processes.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Hybrid role with both office and on-site responsibilities in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • Will require travel to project sites, local communities, and government offices.
  • May involve occasional weekend or evening engagements to meet project timelines or participate in community forums
