Our client, a reputable diagnostic center in Lagos, is seeking a skilled and experienced Sonologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with expertise in diagnostic imaging and patient care.

Role Summary

The Sonologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interpreting results, and providing accurate reports to aid in medical diagnoses. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging, following established protocols.
2. Evaluate and interpret ultrasound images to identify abnormalities and provide accurate diagnostic information.
3. Prepare detailed and comprehensive reports for referring physicians.
4. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment and recommend repairs or upgrades as needed.
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate diagnostic imaging procedures.
6. Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
7. Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during examinations.
8. Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and diagnostic techniques through continuous professional development.
9. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Radiology, Sonography, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in a diagnostic center or healthcare setting.
3. Certification in diagnostic medical sonography or a related specialty.
4. Strong proficiency in operating ultrasound machines and interpreting sonographic images.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate diagnostic reports.
7. A compassionate approach to patient care and a collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams.
8. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the healthcare industry.
