Position Overview:
- We are seeking a motivated and experienced Volunteer Manager, Supply Chain Operations to join our team.
- This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our supply chain, from procurement to distribution, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of resources to our programs and projects.
- As a Volunteer Manager, Supply Chain Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission and maximizing our impact on the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization’s supply chain operations, in alignment with overall goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the supply chain.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate supply of resources for programmatic activities.
- Implement systems for tracking and reporting on inventory movements and stock levels.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Coordinate the logistics of transporting goods and materials to project sites, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with project managers to plan and schedule distribution activities in accordance with program needs.
- Monitor distribution channels and address any issues or delays that may arise.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing supply chain operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain activities, such as disruptions in the flow of goods or changes in market conditions.
- Implement systems for tracking and reporting on compliance and risk management activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven 1-5 years experience in supply chain management, preferably in a non-profit or humanitarian organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with supply chain management software and tools.
